American Changemaker

David All is an American Changemaker who was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and now lives in Washington, DC. He is an award-winning visionary leader, community builder and storyteller.

David has organized 78 meaningful events and communities to solve civic challenges in cities across America, which has given him a better understanding of where hope lives in our nation and what moves us forward together.

Collaborating with researchers from The Ohio State University, he is the co-author of groundbreaking research on the opioid epidemic, resulting in a data-driven approach to identify what he called 'Recovery Deserts,' areas where current treatment and recovery ecosystems disproportionately impact underserved populations, trapping folks in addiction's grip with no way out.

He is building a global community of Changemakers and friends at the base of Mount Purpose. Mount Purpose is a mythical mountaintop embodying the spirit of hope and stories of inspiration. This symbolic peak calls us to work together and climb toward a future that aligns with our shared purpose.

Public service is in David's DNA. His father is a Vietnam veteran, both of his grandfathers fought in World War II, and at least two of his ancestors, a father and son in Pennsylvania, took up arms in the Revolutionary War. David first worked in the Ohio Statehouse, steps from where his entrepreneurial great-grandfather opened his popular furrier across from the old Lazarus department store.

David modernized political strategy and communication and was named one of the 'Top 10 Changing the World of Internet and Politics." He received classical training as a speechwriter while working for the late US Senator George V. Voinovich. Additionally, he was a leadership communication director for US Representative Jack Kingston of Savannah, Georgia where he pioneered the use of social media and blogging on Capitol Hill. David has served in senior roles on several contested political campaigns, invented new platforms and methods to connect constituents closer to the causes they care about and brought the industry together for powerful events.

After a decade, David left DC in his early 30s, telling the Washington Post, "I always saw myself more as a unifier. Ultimately, I left because I'm not a divisive person. I didn't want to use these superpowers to be divisive." After ten years, at the age of 43, he returned to bring America’s change-making community together one story at a time.
